ID Badges, for Security and Identification

ID badges are nothing new in our hustle-bustle world, but there was a time when they were limited mostly to conventions, big parties, and high-security government facilities. Nowadays, identification badges are de rigueur not only in these environments, but in many workplaces and schools as well. Whether you're a student or employee, if you're not carrying around a plastic security badge with your name and photo on it, you're unlikely to get far. They're a necessity, all right -- but that doesn't mean you can't have a little fun with them.

Custom name badges and accessories with personality

Even if yours is a company or school that frowns on overt decoration of your badge, there's no reason you can't make the way you carry it distinctive. You can attach it to a leather lanyard you can wear around your neck, or a little reel that snaps it back whenever you have to slide the magnetic strip through a security lock. If your company is cool, they just might provide custom lanyards emblazoned with the company logo. Or try one of the newfangled magnetic attachment systems: use tiny, powerful magnets to clip your company or school ID to your clothes. No more pinholes!

In our security conscious world, custom school and employee IDs are just something we'll all have to learn to live with. But don't be afraid to liven it up that dull plastic with a nifty accessory or two. You might have to live with the bad photo, but your ID doesn't have to be dull.
